Lifetime Formula, a Parrot food with lower protein and calcium is ideal for companion birds that are not molting or under any other stress such as cooler temperatures. Formulated for maximum palatability, the diet includes natural fruit flavors such as orange and banana, and a variety of 8 grains and nuts.

Natural colors such as those found in carrots and alfalfa add interest for the bird without making it artificial. A rich source of Omega fatty acids from flaxseed, peanuts and sunflower seeds makes feathers shine and help support a healthy body.

Tropican High Performance Granules for Parrots provides optimum nutrition for young fledgling chicks and is a natural transition from the Tropican Hand Feeding formula. The weaning granules offer the same optimal growth recipe with the same highly palatable peanuty taste.

We recommend this formula for chicks in their first year of life. Tropican High Performance formula is also suitable for breeding activity and for birds exposed to an environment where higher caloric energy is required.

Tropican High Performance Granules for Cockatiels is a scientifically formulated and completely balanced diet containing eight grains and nuts for maximum palatability and biological value.The extruded 2 mm granules are sized to be eaten easily, decreasing waste.

Feeding Guide :
Ample fresh food and water should always be available to satisfy the demands of your pet bird. The food and water cups should be cleaned and re-filled daily with fresh water and fresh seeds to keep your pet bird healthy.

Alternative formula for Parrots is an excellent soy-free diet that is rich in peas and quinoa as alternative sources of high quality protein. Peas are a premium source of protein due to their high digestibility score and they provide a great complementary amino acid profile when combined with the other plant derived proteins (wheat, rice) that are found in the Alternative Formula.

Since Tropican incorporates vitamins and minerals, a vitamin supplement is not needed. The ingredients found in this new formula have been carefully selected to support birds that might have had issues with our current Lifetime and High Performance formulations, which have been tested for nearly 3 decades.

Many other tasty ingredients present in the Alternative Formula include pumpkin seeds, maple sugar, cranberries and sweet potato. The bentonite clay (montmorillonite) found within the Alternative Formula is effective and powerful in aiding Parrots who are diet challenged. Feeding Guide :

Administration of food with a feeding syringe is recommended provided you are confident of the proper technique to be used. Please refer to our website (www.hari.ca) for additional technical resources on hand feeding techniques. Use a separate syringe for each clutch.

Place syringe tip slightly into left side of beak with one hand. Pressure should be placed on the beaks commissures with the fingers of the other hand and palm of hand held behind the head of chick, preventing the syringe to injure the mouth when chick will react with a feeding response. When bird gives feeding response (head pumping), start feeding and aim towards the back right side of the mouth. If you are not confident with syringe feeding, a spoon bent on either side can also be used. Close monitoring of chick response and respiration is essential to prevent aspiration.

Fill crop without excess stretching. A daily weight monitoring and amount fed chart should be kept for health growth parameters and future reference. Allow crop to completely empty between feedings. A bent teaspoon may also be used to slowly drip food into beak.

Metal feeding tubes are not recommended, as they can pierce the crop and esophagus, allowing food to leak out. Can be fed dry to lories, finches, canaries and other small species as food supplement.
